THE GENUFLECT DELIVERY
THE TWO ROCK DELIVERY
"Why," you ask?
The two rock delivery enables the curler to:
TEST BRUSHING TECHNIQUES
MAKE ROCK TRAVEL COMPARISONS.
How? By brushing one of the two rocks (one is the placebo), you can test the effectiveness of these three major curling activities.
Note that the delivery is precisely the same for the one rock delivery.
The chest is resting on the thigh and the curler is nicely motoring down the sheet directly on the brush line of sight.
The left knee helps support body weight.
The trailing toe is the brake and rudder.
Fig. 2.17 The sliding foot is straight and only carries part of body weight.
NO PAIN. NO STRAIN. YOU ARE READY TO THROW 500 ROCKS TODAY!
Test brush fabrics. Right Fig. 2.18. Wool duffle covering.
Test brush size and shape. Test brush is 6"x2.5".
Test brushing techniques.
Brush x-ways, 45 degrees forward-backward.
Test brush the effect of more brush weight on the ice.
Test handle length.
Compare rocks. Does one rock run straight or curl more vs. the other, placebo rock. Fig. 2.18
Not curling as good as expected?
When all else fails, blame your poor performance on your skip. Fig. 2.19 He's supposed to be so damn smart anyhow?
Maybe, blame your coach.
CURLER'S LAMENT
My coach told me:
Perfection is the essence light.
Clouds filter out the rays of excellence.
Body and mind writhe, which to win the fight?
The radiance to succor is of skill or intelligence?
Frustration ebbs when I subscribe to creative.
Penetrating my abyss, diffused rays to coordination.
Condensing life's fog, sensors transmitting, no longer sedative.
Contemplation hurts my head, now to retain this tenuous mediation!
