BOARD, BUMPER, BACK-BOARD WEIGHT (Not parking

The momentum of a rock needed for light takeout, that should the
rock miss a target rock, it would slide to a stop at the

rock rebound will be light enough after impact that it will
"hang around."

Either a stone touched by a curler such that it must be removed
from play. A stone that did or will do in further play no good

behind a guard is called a burned stone if it can be easily
removed by the opposition such that the original shooter rock is
"burned/wasted" or rendered useless.
BUTTON
The center circle of the concentric "house rings"

To hit/tick an object rock such that the shooter slides to a
desired position in play rather than hit and roll out.
CLEAN – Brushing
As in,"clean only," the term conveyed to the brushers
such that they apply enough weight to the brushes to clean
debris only from the rock’s path without "polishing"the
surface causing the rock to travel further than desired.
