A stone delivered with less weight than needed to make the shot.
LOST
ITS TURN
A delivered stone which does not maintain rotation and goes "dead
handle."
LOW DELIVERY
Any rock throwing delivery sequence in which the chest is lower than
the knee of the sliding leg.
MIXED
Referring to a team in which all members are not one gender.
NARROW
Inside. A stone delivered off the intended brush target line of sight
between the brush and target stone or desired draw stopping place.
OFF THE BRUSH
A stone delivered off the intended brush line of sight.
OFFICIAL
Normally, in sanctioned play, the umpire or referee responsible for
ensuring the game is played according to the rules.
OUT-TURN Left Handed
The clockwise rotation/turn applied to the rock during the delivery
sequence.
OUTSIDE
Wide. The rock is delivered on a line wide of the brush target line of
sight on the side opposite to the object rock or in the case of a draw, the final skip
directed resting place.
PEBBLE
The ice bumps placed on the sheet ice to reduce friction and provide
curl friction conditions. This scenario is accomplished by spraying water droplets into
the air and allowing them to impact the sheet and freeze into small mushroom shaped
(ideally) ice bumps.
