The very fact that a novice, senior citizen, with 3 years of curling experience and 6 months in the
GENUFLECT delivery system can challenge any curler in the world for money to an Ironman, one on one competition (10 ends - 80 rocks-brushing allowed), clearly points up the benefits of this new rock delivery program.
The joke question, "What are you, a rocket scientist?" does aptly apply here.
I did in fact work on the SATURN 5 main booster rocket and the SPACE
SHUTTLE as a design engineer. All past history aside, this guide will introduce you
to an easy to learn self-taught curling system which draws on the study of Kinesiology with
bio-mechanics of the body in the curling mode reflecting the laws of physics as applied by the engineer.
DISRUPTING THE STATUS QUO!
The new GENUFLECT DELIVERY SYSTEM and technical hypotheses will, hopefully, stir the "curling world" to a new sensitivity to available data to improve the efficiency of the game and minimize the physiological damage being done to curlers.
We hesitate to recommend you attend any "learn to curl" clinic at the
present time because most delivery systems are presently taught from 10 year old training manuals which demonstrate a turned out slider foot. The trailing leg and foot/toe body support technique can also cause serious body injury. By not putting one half of the body weight on the knee, great stress is applied to the trailing leg foot/toe. This muscle strain, in conjunction with the rear foot twist, causes great fatigue which is the main reason why most curlers "TIRE-OUT" after only throwing a few rocks and not the 500 per day that I can throw with the no strain GENUFLECT system. For many people, the strain is so anguishing they can not enjoy the game and simply retire to the couch!
Clinics do offer an opportunity to "learn" the game - the rules, etiquette, warm-up exercises,
beginner strategy, and particularly an opportunity to meet other prospective curlers in which
you MUST associate with to get on a team and participate throughout the year. While it is beneficial to attend
clinics, you do not have to adopt their outdated delivery system!
