The Extender is made by Drew Manufacturing and is the fastest way to get curling with the
properly designed end. Unlike any tube or spring pushstick, this engineered device and my model apply push pressure at the center of
rotation, rock bolt, and avoids the tendency to push
-- out or in -- the rock off the target brush line
when applying turn. The improperly designed tube or spring type pushstick binds/sticks and applies pressure to the handle end and not at the center of rotation about the rock bolt. Use of the tube type push stick will NEVER let you be a good curler. The below design is the only accurate design in manufacture. ![]() Visit the Drew site at: http://www.drew.on.ca The DREW EXTENDER pushstick is the ONLY rock push device I recommend. hAt $65Can approx. for the Drew Extender delivered, probably the fastest way to get curling with an accurate tool. This push system does work so don't worry about the small cost. You can curl a 100% game with this engineered pushstick and with minimum training - 100 hours (if you use my training method). The available adjustable handle is better than using the reverse end of a brush since the normal 4' brush handle is too long for most people. Homemade Pushstick Specs: Stick: 1" or 1-1/4" used brush stick. Use old brush handle and cut down to about 3' - 6"for adult. Shorter may be better but try first. Cost to make about $15 Can. after buying the pvc pipe, 45 degree part and the proper glue and cleaner solvent. OR: See next column.> |
How to use: |
Push End of
Homemade Pushstick: End fits over end of rock handle. You can see the "wheelchair" adaptability of the "pushstick." HOWEVER; it is essential the wheelchair has adequate cool-down time to adjust to the ice temperature to not "mark" the ice with warm tires... Note rubber tape on brush handle to fill gap in elbow for snug push/screw or glue on fit. Most clubs throw away old hair brushes at season end. A 4' brush stick is just the right length for my 6'-2" height. Shorter people MUST shorten the stick to get the proper 30- 40 degree push out with stick centered at bellybutton height. DO NOT PUSH OUT WITH ONE HAND. You will not have full control of rock alignment on the target brush if you use one hand! Push out with two hands on the stick in the GOLF grip at the center of body to maintain brush target alignment!! |
